If you’re ready to start your own business, the Cornwall Business Enterprise Centre (CBEC) should be your first stop! An excellent resource for business owners, the Centre is operated by Cornwall Economic Development in partnership with the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development Trade and Employment.

The Centre helps business owners and entrepreneurs succeed in Cornwall. They offer information, tools, and support during start-up and growth stages of your business. The CBEC offers:

  • Free and confidential business consultations, by appointment
  • Library of resource materials
  • Help with creating your business plan
  • Informational pamphlets on a wide range of business topics
  • Support programs for businesses and young entrepreneurs
  • Seminars & Events

The Centre can also provide access to financial aid programs such as the Starter Company Program and Futurpreneur Canada Start-up Program:

Starter Company Program

Start Company provides successful applicants with unparalleled assistance to start, grow or buy a small business. Assistance includes training, business skills development, mentoring from local business leaders and all-important access to capital. The program is open to Ontario residents between 18 and 29 years of age and participants may also receive up to a $5,000 grant.

Digital Main Street

Digital Main Street is an innovative program designed to help brick-and-mortar small businesses achieve digital transformation. The program is built around an online learning platform, structured training programs, grants, and Digital Service Squad teams of experts to help small businesses improve how they use digital technologies to promote and run their businesses.
